  • 2 pounds chicken wings, split into drumettes and flats
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 2 tablespoons honey optional for extra sweetness

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels.
  3. Toss the wings in a bowl with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  4. Let the wings sit for 10 minutes to absorb the seasoning.
  5. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each piece.
  6. Bake the wings for 45 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  7. While the wings bake, warm your barbecue sauce in a small saucepan over low heat and stir in honey if desired.
  8. After 45 minutes, brush the wings with the heated barbecue sauce and return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes.
  9. Let the wings rest for 5 minutes before serving.
