Ingredients
  

  • 300 g halal ground beef
  • 250 g macaroni pasta
  • 1 can (400 g) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 onion thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • for garnish fresh parsley optional

Equipment

  • Large skillet or frying pan
  • Pot for boiling pasta
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Cheese grater if using block cheddar
  • Large pot

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion slices and cook until golden brown.
  2. Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, and cook until browned and crispy at the edges.
  3. Stir in crushed tomatoes, paprika, salt, and pepper; lower the heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. While the sauce simmers, boil water in a separate pot and cook macaroni according to package instructions; drain well.
  5. Add cooked macaroni to the skillet with beef and sauce. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese and mix thoroughly until cheese melts.
