Method
 

  1. Pat the beef tenderloin dry with paper towels.
  2. Rub the tenderloin all over with olive oil and season generously with salt and pepper.

  5. Transfer the skillet to the oven to finish cooking.

  7. Baste the beef with the butter mixture every few minutes.
  8. Let the beef rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
