- In a large, deep skillet or Dutch oven, heat over medium heat. If the ground beef is lean, add oil.
- Crumble the ground beef into the skillet and cook until browned.
- Once cooked, drain excess grease, leaving about a tablespoon in the skillet.
- Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet, cooking for 3 to 5 minutes until the onions are soft and translucent.
- Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet, gently stirring to mix it with the beef and onions.
- Cover and let simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.
- Remove the lid, season with salt and pepper, and stir to combine.
