Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup diced ham or cooked bacon
  • 1 cup frozen hash browns optional
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 2 cups cubed bread or biscuits
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk
  • Spatula
  • 9x13-inch Baking Dish

Method

  3. Sprinkle the ham, cheese, and hash browns on top, then add the green onions.
  4. In a bowl, crack the eggs, add the milk, salt, and pepper, then whisk until smooth.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the layered ingredients in the dish and gently press down with a spatula.

Notes

Use high-quality cheese for better flavor, and freshly cracked black pepper too! Letting the casserole rest after pouring in the egg mixture ensures it doesn’t become soggy. Feel free to add veggies like spinach, mushrooms, or bell peppers for a healthier twist. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for 3–4 days or frozen for up to 3 months! Garnish with fresh herbs or drizzle with maple syrup for an exciting presentation. Happy cooking!
