Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar (light or dark works!)
  • 2 large eggs at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour spooned and leveled
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine softened butter with both sugars and cream until pale and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, adding the vanilla extract and mixing well.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
  6. Scoop rounded balls of dough onto prepared sheets, leaving space between them.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are slightly soft.
  8. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
