  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup onion finely diced
  • 1 medium bell pepper finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 4 pcs hamburger buns
  • to taste optional toppings coleslaw, pickles, hot sauce

Method
 

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the ground chicken, breaking it into crumbles and browning for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the onion and bell pepper, cooking for about 5 minutes until softened.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and Cajun seasoning, cooking for 1 minute.
  5. Pour in the tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce, mixing until coated.
  6. Season with salt and pepper, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  7. Lightly toast the hamburger buns and spoon the Cajun chicken mixture onto the bottom bun, adding desired toppings.
