Ingredients
  

  • 4 medium-sized carrots
  • 2 juicy oranges
  • 200 ml water
  • 2 cm fresh ginger (small piece)
  • a pinch turmeric powder (optional but recommended)

Equipment

  • High-speed blender
  • Fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth
  • Peeler
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Measuring cup

Method
 

  1. Wash and peel the carrots, cutting them into smaller chunks.
  2. Peel the oranges and separate the segments, removing any seeds.
  3. Slice a small piece off the ginger or grate it if too fibrous.
  4. In a high-speed blender, combine the carrot chunks, orange segments, sliced ginger, and water.
  5. Blend the mixture for about 30-40 seconds until smooth.
  6. Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a glass to remove pulp.
  7. Stir and add a pinch of turmeric powder if using.

Notes

Use organic produce if possible, as you'll be consuming the whole fruit and vegetable. Adjust the ginger quantity to your taste—start small and increase if you enjoy more heat. For freshness, consume the drink immediately; however, it can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days in an airtight container. Separation is normal, simply shake or stir before serving. If you have leftovers, freeze them in ice cube trays for quick energy boosters.
