Ingredients
  

  • 1 whole Camembert cheese
  • 1 sheet Puff pastry
  • 100 g Turkey bacon lardons halal-friendly
  • 2 small Potatoes
  • 1 medium Onion thinly sliced
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • optional Fresh thyme

Method
 

  1. Boil the potatoes in salted water for about 10 minutes and let them cool slightly before cutting into small cubes.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the turkey bacon and sliced onions until golden and caramelized.
  3. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Roll out the puff pastry on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and place the camembert in the center surrounded by the potato-bacon-onion mixture. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Fold the puff pastry over the filling, sealing the edges firmly, and brush the top with the egg yolk.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown. Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing and garnish with fresh thyme if desired.
