Cheesy Broccoli Bites

Crispy on the outside and cheesy on the inside, these Cheesy Broccoli Bites are a delicious way to enjoy veggies. Perfect for snacks or parties!

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g fresh broccoli
  • 150 g grated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or mix)
  • 1 egg
  • 50 g breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • oil for frying or baking

  • Pot for boiling broccoli
  • Mixing bowl
  • Skillet or baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Spatula or slotted spoon

Method
 

  1. Chop broccoli into small florets and boil them in salted water for 5 to 7 minutes until soft but still vibrant green.
  2. Drain the broccoli well and give it a rough chop.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cooked broccoli, grated cheese, egg, breadcrumbs, flour, minced garlic, milk, salt, and pepper. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
  4. Scoop out a spoonful of the mixture, roll it into a ball about 4 cm wide, and place on a plate lined with parchment paper.
  5. Fry in a pan with oil over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes per side or bake at 180°C (350°F) for 15 to 20 minutes on a parchment-lined tray.
  6. Serve hot with a dipping sauce like marinara or yogurt-based dip.
