- In a large bowl, gently combine the ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Divide the meat into four equal portions and form them into patties slightly wider than your buns, making a small indent in the center of each.
- Set up a coating station with finely crushed crackers in one shallow dish and the beaten egg in another.
- Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly oil it.
- Dip each patty into the beaten egg, then press it firmly into the crushed crackers, coating both sides evenly.
- Cook the patties in the hot pan for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until your desired doneness.
- In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each burger to melt.
- Toast the buns lightly, then assemble your burger with preferred toppings and condiments.
