  • 1 medium apple diced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey to taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans to sprinkle on top
  • a pinch salt
  • optional vanilla extract a splash, optional

Equipment

  • Medium saucepan

  1. Start by dicing your apple into small, bite-sized pieces.
  2. Measure out all your ingredients beforehand for smoother preparation.
  3. In a medium saucepan, combine the oats, water or milk, and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.

Notes

Use fresh, seasonal apples for the best flavor. Adjust the sweetness by starting with less syrup and adding more to taste. Consider adding a dollop of Greek yogurt or shredded coconut for creaminess. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat with a splash of milk. Freeze portions for up to three months, ensuring to keep pecans separate until serving for optimal crunch.
