- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and butter your ramekins or baking dish.
- Boil sliced potatoes in salted water for about 10 minutes until tender but still holding shape. Drain and set aside.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté sliced onion and minced garlic until soft and lightly golden.
- Add cod pieces to the skillet and gently cook for about 5 minutes until lightly golden; season with salt and pepper.
- Layer par-cooked potato slices evenly in ramekins. Spoon cod and onion mixture over potatoes.
- Pour heavy cream evenly over each ramekin and sprinkle grated cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until cheese is melted and golden brown, and cream is bubbling.
- Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving hot.
