Creamy Garlic Chicken

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 medium apples peeled and diced (about 2 cups)
  • 1 cup caramel sauce for drizzling

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the mixture and mix until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  6. Fold in the diced apples gently until evenly distributed in the dough.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each.
  8. Gently flatten each cookie dough ball with the back of a spoon.
  9. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the tops look set. Let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  10. Once cooled, drizzle with warmed caramel sauce.

Notes

For a different flavor, try mixing apples or using a drizzle of homemade caramel sauce. Feel free to add a pinch of nutmeg or use different types of apples for a variety of tastes. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days, or freeze them without caramel for up to 2 months.
