Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 12 oz pasta (penne, rigatoni, or linguine)
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional for extra heat)
  • q.s. Salt and black pepper, to taste

Equipment

  • Large pot for boiling pasta
  • Large skillet for searing the steak and making the sauce
  • Whisk for blending the sauce
  • Tongs for tossing the pasta and steak

Method

  1. Fill a large pot with salted water and bring it to a boil. Cook the pasta until al dente, following package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. Pat the steak pieces dry and season them with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the seasoned steak for 2-3 minutes per side until browned, then transfer to a plate and keep warm.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium, add the remaining butter, and stir in the minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes. Cook until the garlic is fragrant.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and let it come to a gentle simmer. Stir in freshly grated Parmesan and mozzarella cheese until melted and smooth.
  6. Add the drained pasta to the sauce and toss until well coated. Return the seared steak to the skillet and stir everything together.
  7. Serve the Creamy Garlic Steak Pasta on plates, garnished with fresh parsley and an extra sprinkle of Parmesan.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, consider marinating the steak for at least 30 minutes before cooking. A simple marinade of olive oil, garlic, and herbs will work wonders.
Use high-quality, freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the best flavor.
If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Rehydrate the sauce with a splash of cream when reheating.
