Method
- Divide ground beef into four equal portions and shape into small patties, seasoning both sides with salt, pepper, oregano, and basil.
- Heat a grill pan or heavy skillet over medium heat with a drizzle of olive oil, then cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side.
- Toast the buns in a dry pan, oven, or under the broiler until golden and slightly crunchy.
- Assemble the mini pizza burgers by spreading pizza sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun, adding the cooked patty on top, and topping with mozzarella cheese.
- Melt the cheese by placing the assembled burgers under the broiler for 1-2 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Add fresh tomato slices and a sprinkle of oregano and basil before placing the top bun on each burger.
- Serve immediately while hot.

Notes
This recipe can be easily doubled or tripled for larger crowds. Set up a "toppings bar" for customization options: olives, pepperoni, onions, and mushrooms. Leftover cooked patties can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge or frozen for about 2 months. Reheat patties gently and toast fresh buns for the best texture.
