Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Skillet or grill pan
  • Spatula

Method

  1. Divide ground beef into four equal portions and shape into small patties, seasoning both sides with salt, pepper, oregano, and basil.
  2. Heat a grill pan or heavy skillet over medium heat with a drizzle of olive oil, then cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side.
  3. Toast the buns in a dry pan, oven, or under the broiler until golden and slightly crunchy.
  4. Assemble the mini pizza burgers by spreading pizza sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun, adding the cooked patty on top, and topping with mozzarella cheese.

Notes

This recipe can be easily doubled or tripled for larger crowds. Set up a "toppings bar" for customization options: olives, pepperoni, onions, and mushrooms. Leftover cooked patties can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge or frozen for about 2 months. Reheat patties gently and toast fresh buns for the best texture.
