Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 2 TBSP ranch seasoning (the dry mix from the packet)
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 2 TBSP butter
  • 4 burger buns brioche is recommended
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 cup caramelized onions (optional)
  • as needed lettuce and tomato for topping (optional)

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Sturdy skillet or grill
  • Small saucepan
  • Spatula
  • Whisk or fork

Method
 

  1. Take the ground beef and place it in a large, cool bowl.
  2. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning over the beef and gently mix until combined.
  3. Divide the meat into four equal portions and shape them into patties.
  4. Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat.
  5. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium doneness.
  6. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
  7. Once bubbling, add the softened cream cheese and whisk until smooth.
  8. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar on each patty and cover until melted.
  9. Toast the buns lightly.
  10. Assemble the burger with the bottom bun, cheesy patty, warm cheese sauce, bacon, caramelized onions, and toppings, then cap with the top bun.
