Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs beef chuck steak cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 medium potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter optional for extra richness

Equipment

  • Crockpot or slow cooker
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting board
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Tongs optional, for searing

Method
 

  1. Cut the steak into bite-sized chunks and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Peel and cube the potatoes, keeping them roughly the same size.
  3. Slice the onion thinly and mince the garlic.
  4. Layer the onions at the bottom of the crockpot.
  5. Add the cubed potatoes on top of the onions.
  6. Place the seasoned steak over the potatoes.
  7. Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, then drizzle olive oil on top.
  8. Cover and set the crockpot to low.
  9. Cook for 6–8 hours on low or 4–5 hours on high.
  10. Stir everything gently once done, and optionally mix cornstarch with water to thicken the sauce during the last 15 minutes.
  11. Serve with a dollop of butter and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
