- Cut the crusts off the bread slices and flatten them with a rolling pin.
- Spread a thin layer of softened butter on one side of each slice.
- Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded cheese onto the unbuttered side of two bread slices.
- (Optional) Sprinkle garlic powder on the cheese.
- Top the cheese with the remaining bread slices, buttered sides facing out, and press lightly to seal.
- Use a round cookie cutter or glass to cut out circles from the sandwiches.
- Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and place the donuts in the pan, buttered side down.
- Cook until golden brown, then flip and repeat on the other side.
- Transfer the cooked donuts to a plate and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
- Serve immediately while warm, optionally with dipping sauces.
