Ingredients
  

  • 4 slices white bread or any soft bread
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder optional
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped for garnish

  • Rolling pin
  • Round cookie cutter or glass

Method
 

  1. Cut the crusts off the bread slices and flatten them with a rolling pin.
  2. Spread a thin layer of softened butter on one side of each slice.
  3. Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded cheese onto the unbuttered side of two bread slices.
  4. (Optional) Sprinkle garlic powder on the cheese.
  5. Top the cheese with the remaining bread slices, buttered sides facing out, and press lightly to seal.
  6. Use a round cookie cutter or glass to cut out circles from the sandwiches.
  7. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and place the donuts in the pan, buttered side down.
  8. Cook until golden brown, then flip and repeat on the other side.
  9. Transfer the cooked donuts to a plate and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
  10. Serve immediately while warm, optionally with dipping sauces.
