  • 4 slices white bread
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon optional

Method
 

  1. Spread a thin layer of softened butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  2. On the unbuttered side, sprinkle an even layer of brown sugar and optional cinnamon.
  3. Fire up your grill to medium heat.
  4. Place the bread slices, buttered-side down, onto the grill grates and cook undisturbed for about 2 minutes.
  5. Carefully flip the bread slices so the sugary side is down.
  6. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the sugar caramelizes into a sticky glaze.
  7. Remove from the grill and let cool slightly.
