Ingredients
  

  • 8 cups water divided
  • 1 cup granulated sugar adjust to taste
  • 6-8 bags black tea bags Luzianne or Lipton works great
  • to taste ice cubes
  • optional fresh lemon slices or mint sprigs for garnish optional

Method
 

  1. Pour 4 cups of water into a large pot and bring it to a rolling boil.
  2. Once the water boils, turn off the heat and add your tea bags. Let them steep for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Remove the tea bags and stir in the sugar until it completely dissolves.
  4. Add the remaining 4 cups of cold water to the pot to cool the tea slightly, then transfer it to a pitcher and refrigerate for at least an hour.
