Method
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) or grill to medium heat (350°F/175°C).
- Season the chicken pieces with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
- Mix honey, BBQ sauce, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and minced garlic in a bowl to create the marinade.
- Coat the chicken evenly with the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
- For oven-baked, place the chicken skin-side up in a baking dish and bake for 30 minutes. Then turn the heat up to 400°F (200°C) for another 10-15 minutes.
- For slow cooker, add chicken to the pot, pour marinade over, and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- For grilling, place chicken on indirect heat and cook for about 25-30 minutes, brushing with marinade during the last 10 minutes.
- Once done, if baking, allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes.
- Serve the chicken on a platter garnished with sesame seeds and chopped parsley if desired.

Notes
For a deeper flavor, consider adding minced garlic or herbs to your marinade. Adjust the sweetness by modifying the amount of honey or using different BBQ sauces. Serve with rice, coleslaw, or roasted veggies to balance the sweetness of the chicken. Leftovers freeze well and can be reheated gently for maximum tenderness.
