Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup low-sodium ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional for heat
  • 1/4 cup water

Method
 

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, and honey. Stir until smooth.
  2. Sprinkle in the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Stir to combine.
  3. Pour in the water and place the saucepan over medium heat. Let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
