Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz fettuccine
  • q.s. Salt for pasta water
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1.5 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 0.5 tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • q.s. Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 8 oz lump crab meat (fresh or canned, drained)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 0.5 tsp Old Bay seasoning (or more, to taste)
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley for garnish

  • Large pot for boiling pasta
  • Colander for draining pasta
  • Large skillet for making the Alfredo sauce
  • Small skillet for sautéing the crab
  • Whisk for mixing the sauce

Method
 

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and add the fettuccine; cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 3 tablespoons of butter, add minced garlic, and sauté until fragrant. Pour in heavy cream and whisk in Parmesan and cream cheese until smooth. Season with nutmeg, salt, and pepper; simmer gently.
  3. In a separate skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat; add lump crab meat and sprinkle with Old Bay seasoning. Sauté gently for 1-2 minutes, ensuring not to break the crab meat.
  4. Toss cooked fettuccine into the Alfredo sauce, adding reserved pasta water if needed for desired consistency.
  5. Plate the pasta and top with sautéed crab meat; garnish with parsley and additional Parmesan, if desired.
