Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (slurry)
  • q.s. sesame seeds and green onions for garnish

Method
 

  1. Start by slicing the beef thinly against the grain and chop the broccoli into bite-sized florets.
  2. Heat a tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and sear the beef slices for about 2 minutes per side until golden brown.
  3. Remove the beef from the pan and add another tablespoon of oil, then stir-fry the broccoli florets for 3–4 minutes.
  4. Return the beef to the pan with the broccoli, pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and brown sugar, and stir well.
  5. Add the cornstarch slurry and cook for another minute until the sauce thickens.
