Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Carefully remove the core of the cabbage and blanch the leaves in boiling water for about 2-3 minutes until soft. Set aside to cool.
- In a large skillet, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until translucent.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, cooked rice, sautéed onion and garlic, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Take a cabbage leaf, place a generous portion of the filling at the base, and roll it up tightly, tucking in the sides. Repeat until all filling is used.
- Spread a small amount of tomato sauce in the bottom of a baking dish. Arrange the cabbage rolls seam-side down.
- Pour the remaining tomato sauce and diced tomatoes over the rolls, covering them generously.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for about 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes for a nice finish.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
