- In a large bowl, mix the masa harina with water and salt. Start kneading the dough until it forms a smooth, pliable ball.
- Divide the dough into equal portions and flatten each portion into a disc shape. Place shredded mozzarella in the center, fold the edges over, and form it into a ball. Flatten again into a thick disc.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook each pupusa for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
