  • 4 large egg whites
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
  • 2 cups corn starch

Method
 

  1. Separate the egg whites and yolks; place the whites in a clean, dry bowl.
  2. Beat the egg whites on high speed until stiff peaks form.
  3. In another bowl, combine the egg yolks, sweetened condensed milk, and corn starch; beat until smooth and free of lumps.
  4. Gently fold one-third of the whipped egg whites into the yolk mixture to loosen it.
  5. Fold in the remaining egg whites gently to retain air until combined.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease an 8-inch round cake pan, then sprinkle with corn starch.
  7. Pour the batter into the pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before unmolding.
