Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz bowties pasta
  • 1 lb chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 4 oz cream cheese, cubed
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Velveeta cheese
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • to taste Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • optional Chopped parsley

Method
 

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and add the bowties pasta. Cook according to the package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Add the finely diced onion to the same skillet and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  4. Drizzle in the honey and a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  5. Sprinkle the flour over the onion and garlic mixture, stirring to coat evenly. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring continuously. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it thicken.
  7. Add the cubed cream cheese, shredded Cheddar, and shredded Velveeta to the skillet, stirring until melted and smooth.
  8. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, stirring to coat it in the sauce.
  9. Add the cooked bowties to the skillet and toss until coated in the creamy sauce.
  10. Let the Spicy Honey Garlic Pasta simmer for about 12 minutes to meld the flavors. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley if desired.
