  • 1 pound g large shrimp thawed, peeled, deveined, tails on
  • 1 cup g buttermilk
  • 1 cup g all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • ⅔ cup g spicy honey homemade or store-bought
  • Fresh parsley chopped for garnish

  • Heavy-bottomed pot or Dutch oven
  • Candy or deep-fry thermometer
  • Tongs or spider strainer

Method
 

  1. Marinate the shrimp in buttermilk for at least 15 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, kosher salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Coat each shrimp with the seasoned flour mixture, ensuring even coverage.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the shrimp in small batches for about 2 to 3 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Remove fried shrimp and drizzle with spicy honey immediately while hot.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.
