Ingredients
  

  • 2 slices sourdough bread or your preferred bread
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter softened
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic optional

  • Knife for spreading butter

Method
 

  1. Spread softened butter evenly on one side of each bread slice.
  2. Combine cheddar, mozzarella, Monterey Jack, and Parmesan in a bowl, adding salt and pepper.
  3. Layer the cheese mixture onto the unbuttered side of one slice of bread.
  4. If using, sprinkle minced garlic over the cheese mixture.
  5. Place the other slice of bread on top, buttered side out.
  6. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat.
  7. Place the sandwich in the skillet, buttered side down, and cook until the bottom is golden brown (about 3-4 minutes).
  8. Flip the sandwich carefully and cook until the other side is also golden brown and cheese is melted.
