Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • to taste Salt and pepper

  • optional Fresh cilantro

Method
 

  1. Gather all ingredients and mince the garlic.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, water, and sesame oil for the sauce.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces (about 5-7 minutes).
  5. Add minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
  6. Pour the sauce over the beef and stir to combine.
  7. Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens; season with salt and pepper.
  8. Wash and dry the lettuce leaves, then spoon a generous amount of beef mixture onto each leaf.
  9. Garnish with cilantro if desired and fold the leaves around the filling.
