- Pour warm milk into a large bowl, sprinkle the yeast and sugar over it, stir gently, and let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Add melted butter and egg to the bowl, whisk together, then add half of the flour and salt; stir until shaggy.
- Gradually add the remaining flour until a soft dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 to 1.5 hours.
- Meanwhile, beat softened cream cheese in a medium bowl until smooth; add powdered sugar and vanilla, then fold in chopped strawberries and heavy cream until pipeable.
- Roll out the risen dough to 1/2-inch thickness and cut out donuts. Let them rise for another 30-45 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pot to 350°F-365°F, fry donuts in batches for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown, then drain on paper towels.
- Once cooled, fill the donuts with cheesecake filling using a piping bag and glaze if desired.
