Ingredients
  

  • 250 g coquillettes or small shell pasta
  • 300 g ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 200 ml heavy cream or crème fraîche
  • 100 g shredded cheese like Gruyère, Emmental, or a sharp cheddar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • to taste Salt and black pepper
  • 1/4 cup Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

  • Large skillet or Dutch oven
  • Colander for draining
  • Wooden spoon or spatula

Method
 

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook coquillettes according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, add chopped onion, and cook until soft and translucent.
  3. Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Increase heat to medium-high, add ground beef, and brown until no longer pink, seasoning with paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Lower heat to a simmer, pour in heavy cream, and stir to combine, scraping the bottom of the pan.
  6. Add drained pasta to the skillet and gently fold into the sauce, simmering for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat, stir in shredded cheese until melted and creamy.
  8. Transfer to serving bowls, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.
