Ingredients
  

  • 8 pieces chicken drumsticks
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Method
 

  1. Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil.
  3. Place the drumsticks in a large zip-top bag and pour the marinade over them; seal and squish to coat evenly.
  4. Marinate in the fridge for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
  5. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (375°F to 400°F).
  6. Oil the grill grates to avoid sticking.
  7. Place the drumsticks on the cooler side of the grill, skin-side down, and close the lid; cook for about 20 minutes, flipping halfway.
  8. Move the drumsticks to the hotter side of the grill to crisp up the skin.
  9. Brush remaining marinade onto the drumsticks during the last few minutes of cooking.
  10. Check for doneness with a meat thermometer (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
  11. Once cooked, transfer to a platter and let rest for 5 minutes.
  12. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions; serve hot.
