Notes

You can substitute honey with maple syrup or agave nectar for a vegan option. For a lighter texture, mix half whole wheat flour with half all-purpose flour. To keep the crust soft, brush the top of the loaf with melted butter right after baking. Store in a cool, dry place wrapped tightly for up to 3 days, or freeze for longer storage. Avoid skipping the kneading to ensure the bread has a good structure.
