Method
 

  1. Cook the berries in a saucepan over medium heat with a bit of water for about 10 minutes, stirring until they start to break apart.
  2. Add the maple syrup or honey and stir to combine.
  3. Pour in the apple cider vinegar and mix well.
  4. Add the spices (cinnamon or cloves) and any optional spices if desired.
  5. Let the mixture simmer for another 5–10 minutes until thickened.
  6. Remove from heat and let it cool before storing in jars.
