Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • q.s. Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 12 oz shell pasta
  • q.s. Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

  • Large pot
  • Colander
  • Wooden spoon

Method
 

  1. Fill a large pot with salted water and bring to a boil. Cook shell pasta until al dente; drain and drizzle with olive oil.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Crumble in the ground beef and cook until browned (6-8 minutes).
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the beef; cook for 3-4 minutes until onions are soft and garlic is fragrant.
  4. Stir in drained diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper; cook for another 3-4 minutes.
  5. Pour in beef broth and scrape up any browned bits; bring to a simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  6. Reduce heat to low. Stir in heavy cream, mozzarella, and Parmesan until melted and smooth.
  7. Add cooked shells to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve.
