- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels; season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat; sear chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove chicken and set aside on a plate.
- Reduce heat to medium; add butter to the skillet until melted, then add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute.
- Pour in chicken broth and white wine, and scrape up browned bits from the skillet while deglazing.
- Stir in lemon juice, lemon zest, and dried parsley; let the sauce simmer for about 5 minutes until it thickens.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, spoon sauce over it, and simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- If using Parmesan, sprinkle it over the chicken and allow it to melt into the sauce.
