Ingredients
  

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup dry white wine or additional chicken broth
  • 1 juiced lemon
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tsp dried parsley or 2 teaspoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Red pepper flakes optional, for heat
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese optional
  • to serve cup cooked pasta or rice
  • for garnish fresh parsley

Equipment

  • Large skillet or sauté pan
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting board
  • Spatula or wooden spoon
  • Citrus juicer or fork

Method
 

  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels; season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat; sear chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Remove chicken and set aside on a plate.
  4. Reduce heat to medium; add butter to the skillet until melted, then add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and white wine, and scrape up browned bits from the skillet while deglazing.
  6. Stir in lemon juice, lemon zest, and dried parsley; let the sauce simmer for about 5 minutes until it thickens.
  7. Return the chicken to the skillet, spoon sauce over it, and simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  8. If using Parmesan, sprinkle it over the chicken and allow it to melt into the sauce.
